Athena Project - Girls Design Fashion Summer Camp

Our Girls DESIGN FASHION Camp gives girls a chance to unleash their inner fashionista!

Ever had a great idea for fashion design and wondered what it takes to bring that idea to life? In this intensive seminar girls learn to create a simple original fashion design from concept to sample. We cover the basics of industrial sewing machines, draping, and patterning simple garment design ideas. Then we create those garments and show them off to friends and family! A camp like this not only provides a fun creative outlet, it also helps develop key life skills like creative thinking, focus, planning, and problem solving.

Girls who participate in this camp may have their work selected to be featured in our Girls Create Celebration – as well as getting the chance to continue to work on their art with a mentor between the summer camp and the Celebration if they wish.

Why should I come to Girls DESIGN FASHION Camp?

You’ll be working with a professional fashion designer who will teach you what it takes to design and create your own unique clothing styles from concept to runway. You’ll have an opportunity to show off your designs in a fashion show at the Girls Create Celebration in August. Plus, you’ll get to connect with other girls that love fashion as much as you do!

What should I bring?

Just comfy clothes, your lunch, and your imagination! We provide equipment, supplies, and snacks!
